According to government financial disclosures and corporate records, Young’s primary documented income source during the DOGE period was Europa 100 LLC, a Texas entity that records indicate was originally used to pay household staff for Musk before being repurposed in 2024 ². According to ProPublica reporting based on his government disclosure, his income from Europa 100 fell in the range of $100,001 to $1,000,000 annually, with the actual figure placed at approximately $1 million per year ^{3 7}. Jared Birchall is the manager of record for Europa 100, and according to the same disclosure, Young also participated in an Excession LLC defined-contribution retirement plan — Excession LLC being another Musk entity — while serving as a CFPB special governmental employee ⁷.

As Treasurer of America PAC, Young was the fiduciary of record for a committee that, according to FEC filings, received more than $239 million in direct contributions from Musk and spent $261 million over the 2024 election cycle ¹. According to GovExec reporting, a fellow DOGE aide at the CFPB, Gavin Kliger, separately held prohibited stocks — Tesla and Apple — valued at up to $715,000 ⁵.

According to ProPublica reporting, Young was deployed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on January 30, 2025, as a DOGE-affiliated special governmental employee, one of three Musk deputies added to the bureau’s internal staff directory ³. Records indicate he obtained full system access to CFPB data — including bank examination records and enforcement materials — by February 7, 2025 ⁴. According to ProPublica, internal emails from February 11–12 showed him participating in discussions of contract cancellations, transfers from the CFPB’s civil penalty fund, and workforce reduction-in-force planning; records indicate he separately inquired about RIF implementation in March ⁴.

The conflict-of-interest question documented by reporting centers on the fact that CFPB holds jurisdiction over Tesla’s consumer auto-loan portfolio and over X Corp’s January 28, 2025 Visa payment partnership. Jared Birchall is the manager of Europa 100 LLC, the entity through which Young is paid. According to Texas corporate records, Birchall manages multiple Musk Texas LLCs and functions as Musk’s entity administrator, with Young’s compensation flowing through that Birchall-managed structure ⁷.

America PAC is the committee where Young held the Director and Treasurer title. According to FEC filings, the PAC spent $261 million in the 2024 cycle, with its largest in-kind outflows going to United States of America Inc., where Young also held an officer title ¹.
